1. Humidor

2. Clean dry cloth

3. Distilled water/ Propylene Glycol Activation Solution

4. Clean sponge/Short glass

5. Cigar humidifier

6. Hygrometer

Seasoning your humidor

1. Wipe the interior of the humidor with a damp cloth, please make sure you use a clean, lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water and take care not to leave the surface wet. (This step can be skipped if you are afraid of damaging the cedar interior.)

2. Saturate the cigar humidifiers with Propylene Glycol Activation Solution or distilled water. Dry off the surface of the humidifier and place on a towel for approximately one hour to make sure that no dripping occurs.

3. Place a damp sponge on top of a plate. Position it inside the humidor, making certain the sponge doesn’t touch the wood. Instead of a sponge you may also use a shot glass full of distilled water or Propylene Glycol Activation Solution.

4. Attach the humidifiers and hygrometer to the inside of the lid.

5. Close the empty humidor for at least 12 to 24 hours, then remove the sponge and plate.

6. Check the settings. Your humidor is ready to store cigars when the hygrometer reads over 65%. If necessary, dampen the sponge and repeat the process until the proper humidity level is met. Make certain the proper moisture and temperature are created and stabilized prior to storing any cigars.
